This 18,500 square-foot architectural corporate headquarters is designed to LEED Silver specifications. Truly a unique working environment, with breakout spaces designed to encourage collaboration and critique. Gallery style display corridors enable visitors to experience the design process while partially transparent barriers control the path of travel through the space. All employee workstations include an outdoor view and a pathway along the glass at the perimeter of the space encourages employees to travel along the views.

It was important to reveal the design process to visitors in a controlled manner. An interior pathway lined with screens and display surfaces encourages pinning-up of project materials but provides a mild barrier of entry into the actual design areas. The display areas also allow cross-pollination of various design styles and product types and afford all employees the opportunity to stay up to date on new projects.

To encourage a collaborative work culture, many casual semi-private meeting spaces are available while individual work spaces are smaller to provide for private work time.

• A Flex/Training Space has encouraged regular learning sessions and collaborative work.
• Small casual meeting spaces include curtain partitions and space for 3-4 people.
• Touchdown spaces encourage short and spontaneous conversation.
• ‘Phone Booths’ provide a place for private phone calls and conversation for up to 2 people.
• A model making room provides a separate space where designers can freely build models without the worry of cleaning up after each session. The doors can be closed shielding employees and visitors from unsightly disorder.

In addition, self-serve beverage areas create a welcoming environment for visitors. Guests help themselves to cold beverages in the refrigerator or individually brewed coffee and tea from the Keurig brewing stations.
