DAVIS was selected through an interview process to design Google’s Tempe office, the first location in the Valley for the company. An existing location near ASU’s campus was available and the goal was to make the Tempe Regional Office “Google-y” similar in nature to their Mountain View Corporate Headquarters. The playful colors and interior finishes are iconic when you think Google; including break rooms with a gaming area, phone booths and putting greens. The project had multiple phases and an accelerated schedule to design, execute, construct, and occupy the space within approximately 90 days for Phase I. Phase II followed within 60 days after Phase I was completed. It took a collaborative and ‘all hands on deck’ effort for decisions to be made in a quick manner to keep the project on track.
